Associate AI Product Manager
The company
Oberon buys and transforms mid-market operating businesses with AI agents, through Oberon Holdings, and runs the same kind of transformation for companies we don't own, through Oberon Studios. Most of what makes a company hard to fix is a solvable engineering problem: messy data, scattered institutional knowledge, and outdated workflows. We build that tooling once and make it sharper with every company we engage with.
We're small and early. A hire here takes on real responsibility fast.
The job
This role splits between two things: building outbound that gets Oberon in front of the right companies and working with our external delivery partner (the engineering team that builds and ships the work) to turn a client's problem into something we can scope and sell.
Early on, that also means fixing what's not working outbound today, including deliverability and tooling, and getting a clear read on what's landing, before adding more volume on top of it.
What you'll actually do
- Own outbound execution: sourcing, sequencing, qualification, and the health of the pipeline itself.
- Join discovery calls with prospective clients alongside our delivery partner and turn what they tell you into a first-pass scope our delivery partner can refine into a formal proposal.
- Brief the delivery partner before every call on what you know about the client, ensuring the handoff into formal scoping is fast.
- Pick up whatever else moves a deal forward, from first outreach through the start of an engagement.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of professional experience. Startup or product experience preferred, and experience at a top-tier management consulting firm is highly valued.
- Can write outbound that gets a reply and run a conversation without someone else steering it.
- Can turn a messy client conversation into a clear scope: what gets built, in what order, and how we'll know it worked.
- Technical enough to follow how an AI agent works and where it can break, without needing to write the code yourself.
- Comfortable staying with a client after the sale: running check-ins, tracking what's shipped against what was promised, and flagging early when scope drifts.
- Already uses AI tools in your own work.
- Doesn't need a fixed job description to know what to do next and takes direct feedback without getting defensive.
- Enjoys taking initiative and ideating creative solutions to move the business forward.
Who this is
You might come from sales development, consulting, banking, or a startup where you gained responsibility and achieved impact. You should be able to speak to a client engagement you helped close, a campaign you ran end to end, or something you built and shipped.
On a discovery call, you sit with what a client is dealing with, ask the question that gets past the polished version of the problem, and bring back something the team can build against.
You're equally comfortable being the most junior person in a room with a client's leadership and grinding through an outbound list.
Compensation
Base salary guidance is $120,000 to $160,000, plus equity.
Equal opportunity
We hire on ability and fit, not background. Every applicant gets a fair look regardless of race, gender, age, religion, or any other status protected by law.
